Sun Sign Company Named 2026 Business of the Year

Sun Sign Company of Wheelersburg was honored with the 2026 Business of the Year award in the under 10 employees category by the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce on October 29, 2026.

For owners David and Clarissa Williams, the award represents years of hard work, a love for the sign business, and the support of employees, contractors, customers, and the community they call home.

Presenting the award, Matt Setters, Vice President of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, recognized the company’s growth and its impact throughout the region:

“From humble beginnings to becoming a regional leader in signage and graphics, Sun Sign Company is a great example of hard work, growth, and entrepreneurial spirit. Through continued investment, innovation, and dedication to quality, David and Clarissa Williams have built a business that makes its mark throughout the Tri-State. Congratulations to Sun Sign Company of Wheelersburg, recipient of the 2026 Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year with under 10 employees!”

Based in Wheelersburg, Ohio, Sun Sign Company designs, fabricates, installs, and services signs for businesses, churches, schools, and organizations throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. From helping a new business introduce itself to updating a familiar community landmark, each project is an opportunity to create something useful, lasting, and distinctive.

That work depends on people. The skills and dedication of employees, the contributions of trusted contractors, and the confidence customers place in Sun Sign Company have all helped make this recognition possible.

Clarissa expressed that gratitude in a Facebook post following the award:

“We are grateful and humbled. Thank you to the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, our employees, contractors and all of our customers! We’ve not only built quality signs, but also lasting relationships!

Those relationships are at the heart of what makes the award meaningful. Behind every completed sign are conversations, plans, challenges solved, and people working together. Being recognized by the local business community makes this milestone especially rewarding.

Sun Sign Company also received a certificate of recognition from Congressman David J. Taylor, who represents Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District.

As the company celebrates this honor, its focus remains on the work and relationships that made it possible: serving customers well, taking pride in the finished product, and continuing to invest in the people, equipment, and craftsmanship behind every sign.

To the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and everyone who has been part of the journey—thank you for helping Sun Sign Company make its mark.
